Local Staff - Economic Affairs Officer

Job Description

The Embassy of Jordan in Japan is seeking a full-time Economic Affairs Officer. The selected candidate will be responsible for expanding the Embassy’s outreach to Japanese public and private sector entities, identifying key stakeholders in Japan’s economic, tourism and trade landscape, and supporting the Embassy’s efforts to promote Jordan’s business environment. The ideal candidate should be highly motivated, detail-oriented, and have strong communication and analytical skills.

Duties

         Expand the Embassy’s outreach to Japanese economic and business entities

         Monitor and summarize daily economic developments in Japan

         Identify business opportunities and relevant Japanese market trends

         Promote Jordan’s key economic sectors, investment incentives, and trade environment to Japanese counterparts

         Prepare and schedule meetings with economic stakeholders for Embassy diplomats

         Assist in organizing trade, tourism and investment related events and briefings

         Draft business correspondence and communications in Japanese and English

         Develop reports, briefings, and presentations as required

         Perform other administrative tasks as assigned by Embassy

Requirements

         Excellent verbal and written communication skills in Japanese and English

         Proficiency in business writing and presentation preparation

         At least a 2 years of experience in a related field

         Strong organizational and research skills

         Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)

         A Bachelor’s degree or higher in a related field
